Holy Eucharist

First Communion (First Holy Communion) is one of the Sacraments of Initiation for our church. The celebration of the Eucharist is at the heart of the Church's life.

We believe this event to be very important, as the Eucharist is one of the central focuses of our church. The ritual, sacramental action of thanksgiving to God which constitutes the principal Christian liturgical celebration of and communion in the paschal mystery of Christ.

Communion is most often first received by children around the age of seven or eight, when they have reached the age of reason and are capable of participating in the sacramental life of the church. First Communion is to be preceded by the sacraments of baptism, reconciliation and confirmation.
